When I first shared this recipe, it was about 8 years ago when we were just settling in to our big move from Rhode Island to Florida. While I was updating this post, I thought it would be fun to share that this is still one of my busy night go-to recipes after all this time has past. When I have more time on my hands, these scalloped potatoes are the best.

I won't keep you in suspense, the secret flavor packed ingredient in this simple recipe is LIPTON® RECIPE SECRETS® Onion Soup Mix. This is one of my favorite secret ingredients when it comes to cooking up flavorful and quick meals.
It's basically the ultimate shortcut and nobody needs to know your quick trick.
Can't believe I never thought to use it for some potato flavor.
Now that I've given it a try, this is definitely going to be one of my regular quick go-to side dish recipes.
Hard to believe so much delicious flavor can be added to foods and meals with just one packet of this mix. Brilliant.
From slow cooker meals to awesome dips, you should totally experiment with adding the mix in for mega flavor with zero fuss.

Lipton® Recipe Secrets® Onion-Roasted Potatoes Recipe
Secret Ingredient Roasted Potatoes
Unbelievably easy roasted potatoes with just a couple of ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 envelope LIPTON® RECIPE SECRETS® Onion Soup Mix
- 4 medium all-purpose potatoes, cut into large chunks (about 2 lbs.)
- ⅓ cup – olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°.
- Combine all ingredients in 13 x 9-inch baking or roasting pan.
- Bake, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and golden brown, about 35 minutes.
So ridiculously easy and tasty!

I tried this recipe tonight. It's super easy and the potatoes came out very tasty! I did add a little pepper to it just to spruce it up a little but it would have been perfect without it. This will be my go to recipe now for quick and easy potatoes ?

I love potatoes! I have had them any way you can cook, bake, boil them! I've never tried Lipton soup mix while roasting, but I'm going to try it. It sounds so yummy! tahnks for sharing your recipe at Inspire Me Mondays!
