5 Favorite Everyday Kitchen Tools You Need

5 Favorite Everyday Kitchen Tools You Need

So, I'm finally taking a few days off this week to enjoy company. Exciting, it's our first official visit from Rhode Island friends since we moved! I thought I would share some offbeat things this week, just for fun. Today, I'm sharing five of my favorite everyday kitchen tools that are guaranteed to make your kitchen better. When I thought about the things that I rely on the most when it comes to food preparation, the tools that I use are actually really simple! Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, all opinions are my own.

Looking for new favorites in the kitchen? Check out these 5 everyday tools that can make food prep so much easier!

1. Oneida Stainless 5" Cooks knife. Funny enough, I grabbed this at Target when we first moved here and before the delivery truck was able to get to us with all of our things. It's really sharp and I love the size. It's perfect for cutting small veggies and almost anything that I need throughout a normal day. It's been awhile since I shared this and this model is no longer sold. The blade on this similar Oneida knife looks comparable and it's the same size.

2. Ghidini Italy Can Opener. Ever since my son started using can openers on his own, we started going through them like they were going out of style. Prior to that, it was rare that I ever needed a new one. I found this one, if memory serves me correctly at World Market and it's been serving us right ever since. I found a similar can opener model on Amazon from the same brand.

3. Farberware Classic Apple Corer.  I picked this up when I was making apple pie last December and I just love it.  We've been making fresh juice lately and it's really come in handy. It's so simple, but it works awesome!

4. Wilton Scoop-It Measuring Cups.  I've had plenty of measuring cup sets in my lifetime, but I always end up reaching for these. I picked them up when I had a gift card to Michaels a while back and I just love them.  They stack nicely so they save space and they are cuter than many average measuring cups. I like that they are clear which makes it easier to eyeball and to clean thoroughly.

5. KitchenAid Pizza Wheel.  I never thought I'd be the type to own a cutter just for pizza (giggling to myself here). But, it looks like I am the type.  My first cutter was purchased at a flea market and boy was it a hunk of junk. But this KitchenAid cutter is sturdy and reliable and surprisingly comes in handy for cutting a whole slew of things aside from pizza.

And, that's it.  Slightly boring, but highly reliable!

What are some of your favorite kitchen tools that you find yourself reaching to daily?

These are all great musts! I have probably have way too many kitchen gadgets and find myself giving them away.

I'm the same way, Amy. The last big purge I did saw several kitchen gadgets and doodads heading to the Goodwill.

Those measuring cups sound great. I have two sets of measuring cups and I still need more for some recipes!

EXACTLY! I'll be elbow deep in a cake or something, and my husband will say, "Why don't you just measure the sugar with the same one you used for the flour?" At that point, I just stare at him until he leaves. =D
