Jane's DIY "Bingo" Polka Dot Wrapping Paper

Jane's DIY

Every holiday season, I can't help but to think about my Gram a little more than usual. It's all of the little things she would do that still make me smile today. From her classic deviled eggs to celery with cream cheese every Christmas, she sure shared traditions built to last. Today's DIY fun is in memory of her. So, let me tell you where this idea came from. When I was really young, my mother and I lived with my Gram for a while. My oldest memories involve living with her. She always had an affinity for playing Bingo even way back then. I had no clue what Bingo was at that time, but what I do remember still makes me giggle today. I'd be long asleep when she returned from her Bingo nights, but there was one way I'd know if she'd won. Donuts.

My sweet Gram would bring home a dozen of Dunkin Donuts when she won Bingo!

What kid wouldn't be excited about that? Every Saturday morning I would wake up and run downstairs to see if she had a lucky night!

I always reflect on those days and miss her so very much.

When I was a little older, I remember wanting to play with her Bingo Markers. There's something about a magic stick of paint. Nowadays they actually make them for crafting. So, to honor her this year, I thought it would be neat to make my own wrapping paper using Bingo Markers.

Making this wrapping paper is just as easy as it looks, I promise.

Here's all you'll need:

Simply dab your dots onto your brown kraft paper. I'd recommending trimming out your paper, dabbing the dots and letting it dry completely. It only takes up to about 10 minutes to dry.

Then, wrap with your gifts.  I wouldn't recommend doing it after you've wrapped gifts because the paint can seep through the paper.

My Gram used to use the word jazzy to describe things she likedI'd like to think she would have thought this wrapping paper was pretty jazzy, too.   😉

Have you have any special holiday memories? I'd love to hear your stories!
